Crime Report: DWI, Criminal Mischief and Grand Larceny at Macy's

Southampton Town Police arrest reports, Dec. 20 through Dec. 25.

DWI

Walt L. Pfeifer, 40, of Hampton Bays was pulled over in Hampton Bays near the intersection of King Street and Gerald Lane at around 2:16 a.m. on Friday for failing to signal and speeding, police said. Pfeifer was slurring his speech and unsteady on his feet and he had alcohol on his breath.  A breath test showed his blood alcohol content to be .18 percent, more than double the legal limit, police said, adding that he was also found to have a suspended license. Pfeifer was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, both misdemeanors, and failing to signal and speeding, both traffic infractions.

Alex Bolviar Armendariz, 39, of Hampton Bays was headed westbound on Montauk Highway near the Pawnee Street intersection in Hampton Bays when he drove off the roadway and struck a utility pole on Saturday at around 2:27 a.m., according to police. He was stopped while trying to drive away, police said. Armendariz blew .21 on a breathalizer and was subsequently charged with DWI and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors, and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, a traffic infraction, according to the arrest report. He was also charged with driving without a license, having obstructed or dirty plates, failure to produce an insurance card and failure to provide registration, all traffic infractions.

False Police Report

Robert Louis Hansult, 54, of Flanders was arrested at around 5:49 p.m. on Thursday and charged with making a punishable false written statement and falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, both misdemeanors. Police said Hansult falsely reported his vehicle stolen. He transported to town police headquarters in Hampton Bays, processed and released on an appearance ticket.

Criminal Mischief

Amy Douglas Smith, 34, of Riverhead was arrested at town police headquarters in Hampton Bays on Dec. 20 at around 12:39 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Douglas Smith turned her self in to police for an active bench warrant issued by Judge Barbara Wilson of Southampton Town Justice Court on Dec. 14 for a domestic incident on Wauhope Road in Hampton Bays on Dec. 13 at around 1:35 a.m.

John Z. Martinolich, 25, of Hampton Bays was arrested Thursday at around 11:20 a.m. in Hampton Bays and charged with harassment in the second degree, a violation, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor. Police said an officer responded to a West Tiana Road apartment where a victim said Martinolich struck her and threw her to the ground, then broke several items in her apartment before fleeing. Martinolich spoke with police dispatch and indicated his location, police said. He was picked up and transported to police headquarters, where he was additionally charged with failure to register as a sex offender, a felony, for failing to report his address change, police said.

Grand Larceny

Brittany Boynton, 19, of Hampton Bays was arrested on Dec. 20 at around 9:31 p.m. at in Hampton Bays and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree. Town police said they received a call from Macy's security that there had been a pattern of cash shortages at the end of the day, and the cash registers were traced back to Boynton, an employee there.

Weapon Possession

Andre J. Walker, 20, of Riverside was pulled over near the intersection of Springville Road and Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays Friday at around 4:36 a.m. for having no plate lamp, according to police. Walker had a joint in plain view and two bullets on the driver's side door, police said. He informed police he had a gun in the trunk, a .38 revolver, and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

Justin T. Davis, 22, of Riverhead, the passenger in Walker's car, was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana, police said. Davis was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
