Cops: Woman Stole Credit Card, Went on Shopping Spree

Westhampton Beach and Suffolk Police are seeking information about a credit card theft in late July.

Suffolk County and reported on Thursday morning that they are seeking someone who stole a credit card from a car parked at the North Mall in Westhampton on July 29 and used it on a shopping spree at several stores in the Mastic/Shirley area.

Police said that between the hours of 1:00 and 4:30 p.m. on July 29, a white female, likely in her early 20s with dark hair pulled back, purchased various items on a card that had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

According to police, purchased were made at Home Depot, Pathmark, Game Stop, Rite Aid, King Kullen and Floyd Grocery.

Police also said that the woman was accompanied by a white male wearing a dark baseball cap, a red shirt with markings on it, and dark pants while in Home Depot.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and any information leading to an arrest could lead up to a $5,000 reward.
