Cops: Westhampton Man Busted For Fleeing From Police, Cocaine Possession

The man is facing felony charges, police said.

A Westhampton man was busted after police said he fled and resisted arrest on Friday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, Eric Parker, 27, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. on Arnold Street. 

Police said Parker failed to appear in Southampton Justice Court on Dec. 10, for a prior case involving possession of marijuana; a violation. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Friday, two police officers approached Parker in an attempt to arrest him for the warrant and Parker fled, police said.

He was apprehended soon after and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine, police said.

Parker was charged with failing to appear on a bench warrant, a misdemeanor, resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor, assault in the second degree, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony.

Parker was processed at Southampton Town Police headquarters and held overnight. He was arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on Saturday remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional facility, police said.
