Cops: Valero Gas Station Armed Robber Caught

The man will be arraigned in Westhampton Beach Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

A Mastic man was arrested and charged with the armed robbery of a Valero gas station on Montauk Highway that took place on Nov. 30 in Westhampton Beach, police said.

According to New York State police, Christopher M. Rojas, 27, was arrested on Dec. 1. Police said he was identified after a traffic stop by Westhampton Beach Village police that stemmed from reports of a suspicious vehicle complaint on Dune Road.

Police said the car was impounded and a search warrant was obtained. When the vehicle was searched, police said evidence was found that was linked to the robbery. 

Rojas was charged with robbery in the second degree, a felony.

He will be arraigned at the Westhampton Beach Village Justice Court on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
