Suffolk County Police said on Tuesday night they had to use a Taser to subdue an Eastport resident outside a bar, who ended up being arrested on charges of DWI, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Cops said the Eastport resident, 47-year-old Jay Condrill, had been asked to leave The Triangle Pub on Old Montauk Highway, and after originally complying, ended up returning to the bar.
According to police, Condrill - a teacher in Central Islip - was seen exiting his car and appeared intoxicated upon getting out. He was approached by police and reported that when attempting to place Condrill under arrest, he threatened physical harm to an officer and refused to place his hands behind his back.
Police said they had to use physical force in arresting Condrill, and eventually had to use a Taser to take him into custody.
He was arrested, transported to police headquarters, and later to Brookhaven Medical Center.
