Cops: TD Bank Robber Caught

A 29-year-old Selden man has been charged in connection with the robbery that took place on Sept. 10.

Southampton Town Police say they have charged at 29-year-old Selden man in connection with a bank robbery that took place at TD Bank in Hampton Bays on Sept. 10.

According to Detective Sergeant Lisa A. Costa, Donnell Thomas, 29, was found hiding out at a residence on Hawthorne Street in Mastic on Tuesday morning. He was arrested without incident and charged with robbery in the third degree, a felony.

Police say on Sept. 10 Thomas handed a bank teller a note, reading “I have a gun, give me the money or die!!” Police say the teller complied and the man fled on foot with over a thousand dollars. He was last seen headed south on East Tiana Road.

The police said they received a panic alarm at 4:40 p.m. and a 911 call shortly after from a teller. Police said that officers were on scene within minutes and searched the area with help from a New York State police K-9 unit, but the robber was gone.

Thomas, police said, was caught with the help of the United States Marshal Service/New York, New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Thomas was scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m.

People that Robby the bank the are not low life they are people at need money because they can't find a job and every thing is going up but not the money. You don't know what going on with them but it is hard to live out here NYC is too high and taxes are going up now the poor can't live out here. What the Hell is going on out here. Everybody is going to move to the down south soon because it cheaper out there.
