Cops Seek Info on Arrests, Including Hampton Bays Diner Beating
Police also seeking info after a Hampton Bays woman allegedly slashed her roommate, and a Quogue teen reportedly caused a ruckus at a Speonk home.
Southampton Town police announced that they are seeking information on three separate incidents which occurred last month, which included two reported assaults – one at Hampton Bays Diner – and one alleged hit-and-run.
The first incident involved a Hampton Bays man, who police said hit someone several times in the face at the night club behind Hampton Bays Diner around 4:30 a.m. on June 16. The man reportedly required immediate medical attention, and the Hampton Bays man was arrested on a misdemeanor third-degree assault charge.
The landmark diner, located on Montauk Highway at the end of Route 24, has been no stranger to violent incidents in the past.
A group assault was reported there in March. In 2011, an employee was arrested on a felony assault charge after reportedly waving a knife at his fellow co-workers, one of whom defended himself with a garbage can lid in a kitchen melee. Just one month after that, police arrested a duo after saying they robbed a woman in the parking lot around 2 a.m.

Most notably, the year prior, Calvin Butts – a Riverhead man – was stabbed to death in the parking lot of the diner.
Southampton Town cops also released information about a felony assault. According to police, Hampton Bays resident Maria Maltez was arrested on June 29 on felony charges of second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Maltez reportedly slashed her friend in the arm with a large kitchen knife after they had an argument at their house.

Lastly, police said they are seeking information following the arrest of 19-year-old Quogue resident Dylan McAllister. According to police, he drove his car over a row of bushed at a Speonk property, causing over $500 in damage. He reportedly smashed out a glass sliding door as well as a window. McAllister was arrested on June 20 on a felony charge of second-degree criminal mischief as well as criminal trespassing in the second degree.
