Cops: Man With Pellet Gun Makes Threat in Westhampton

Police defused the incident, which took place Wednesday night.

Southampton Town police have charged a 28-year-old Westhampton man after police said he threatened another person with a pellet gun.

Police said that they were called to a Westhampton home on Wednesday night around 6:00 p.m. with a report of a man brandishing a gun, threatening to kill the unnamed person at the other end of the barrel.

Police said they were able to defuse the situation and soon found that the gun that appeared to be a revolver was actually a pellet gun.

The 27-year-old was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor and second-degree harassment, a violation.
