Cops: Man Sexually Abused 12-Year-Old

Alleged July incident leads to the arrest of a Hampton Bays man.

A Hampton Bays man was arrested on Wednesday on charges that he sexually abused a 12-year-old child last month.

Fabian D. Valencia, 36, was released from the Suffolk County jail on $5,000 cash bail the day after his arrest at Southampton Town police headquarters.

said that Valencia was charged with sexual abuse in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

Police did not release any further information to protect the privacy of the victim.

According to New York State Penal Code, "A person is guilty of sexual abuse in the second degree when he or she subjects another person to sexual contact and when other person are incapable of consent or less than 14 year old."
