East Quogue Man Accused Of Driving Drunk

A look at recent arrests reported by the Southampton Town Police.

The following arrests were reported by the Town of Southampton Police over the past week. A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

East Quogue

Jonathan Perez, 26, of East Quogue, was arrested in East Quogue on Sep. 7 on a charge of DWI, a misdemeanor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and moving lanes unsafely, both violations. According to police, an officer received a call about someone driving erratically on East End Avenue, near Montauk Highway, at around 4:30 a.m. Police were provided with the driver’s license plate number. When the responding officer located Perez, they said he was committing several traffic violations and was stopped. The officer observed that Perez appeared to be drunk and arrested him.

Riverside

Matthew Nohe, 39, of Burlington, Vt. was arrested in Riverside on Sept. 5 at around 7:15 a.m., charged with driving while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, also a misdemeanor, and improper use of signals, a violation. According to police Nohe was stopped on Flanders Road while driving a 2006 GMC Sierra after he allegedly failed to signal for a turn and had a busted headlight. When the officer approached Nohe, police said his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet. The officer also found an undisclosed controlled substance in his possession. He performed poorly on a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
