Man Charged With 9 Felonies For Reportedly Using Employer's Accounts

Jason Bergami, of Center Moriches, was arrested on Dec. 21.

Jason Bergami, 37, of Center Moriches, was arrested by Southampton Town police on Dec. 21 on nine felony grand larceny counts and eight counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree after police said he used his employer’s account numbers to make several purchases, and proceeded to pawn the items he bought at various locations.

Police reports state that Bergami pawned the items on seven different occasions, in the course stealing from Riverhead Building Supply in Hampton Bays and Riverhead, as well as a Roanoke Avenue address in Riverhead.

Bergami was also arrested on a bench warrant after he reportedly did not show up to court earlier this year.

According to online court records, Bergami was arrested in late October on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, and did not show to court dates on Oct. 29 and Dec. 7.

Correction: This article previously stated that Bergami was employed by Riverhead Building Supply in Hampton Bays, however he was not. We apologize for the error.
