Cops: Man Charged With DWI, Drove Wrong Way Around Riverside Traffic Circle

Police said the driver was unlicensed.

An unlicensed Brentwood man was arrested on Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated after police said he drove the wrong way around the Riverside traffic circle.

According to Southampton Town Police, Jose Ramirez-Carbajal, 20, was arrested at 1:03 a.m. on Flanders Road in Riverside after he was observed driving the wrong way around the Riverside traffic circle, a violation.

He was stopped and found to be intoxicated, police said. Ramirez-Carbajal was also charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a violation, and failure to use a designated lane.

He was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing and held for morning arraignment.
