For the second time this week, an arrest has been made after police nabbed a drunk driver in the Riverside traffic circle.
According to Southampton Town police, Jean Marc P. Choffel, 41, of New York was arrested on Flanders Road in Flanders at 1:25 a.m.
Police said Choffel was observed driving on County Road 94 at the Riverside traffic circle where he failed to yield the right of way to other vehicles; he was stopped and found to be intoxicated. Choffel was transported to the Southampton Town Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Choffel was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and failing to yield the right of way, a violation. Choffel was held for morning arraignment at the Southampton Town Justice Court.
Earlier this week another man was charged with DWI after driving the wrong way around the Riverside traffic circle.
