The man attacked and robbed a business employee, tried to break into homes, and led police on a chase, authorities said.

A Hampton Bays Man was arrested Sunday after attacking and robbing an employee at an area club, trying to break into numerous homes, and leading authorities on a pursuit, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, Lucas Guillen, 29, was arrested after an initial report at 4:55 a.m. about a dispute in progress at Charlie Brown's Pub on Montauk Highway.

Detectives also responded to the scene, after police said information came in that the suspect, a prior patron, had attacked and robbed an employee closing the business.

As the investigation progressed, police received multiple calls of a prowler in the area of Shore Road and East Tiana Road; police said the description matched the description of the suspect in the ongoing robbery investigation.

Police said Guillen made several attempts to get into several properties and residences in the area, sparking a path of prowler complaints from the Shore Road and East Tiana Road location to the area of Rampasture Point.

At 7:49 a.m., Southampton Town police officers were alerted that Guillen had been spotted in a yard on Grant Boulevard in Hampton Bays.

As responding officers arrived at the location, police said Guillen refused to comply with orders to surrender, leading officers on a pursuit; he initially evaded capture.

Eventually, utilizing the New York State Police canine unit and the Suffolk County Police Department aviation unit, along with an increased in police units to the area, Southampton Town police were able to take Guillen into custody, near the intersection of East Rampasture Road and Hampton Harbor Lane, police said.

He was arrested and found to be in a possession of a quantity of cocaine, police said; he was charged with one count of robbery in the third degree, a felony, one count of criminal trespass in the third degree, a misdemeanor, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, one count of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and one count of obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a misdemeanor.

Several police officers were injured during the manhunt, and are being treated at local area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The investigation into the incident is active and police are asking that anyone with information contact the Southampton Town police department's detective division at 631-702-2230.
