Cops: Items Stolen From Several Cars in Westhampton Beach

Westhampton Beach Police are investigating the theft of items from at least three cars in late October.

According to Westhampton Beach cops, thee car owners called between Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 to report that items were stolen from their vehicles in the overnight hours.

The first report, according to police, came in on Oct. 28 from a Griffing Avenue resident who said that sometime between 10:00 p.m .and 6 a.m. someone entered his unlocked car and took a GPS, a mini i-pod, a knife and two packs of cigarettes.

Later that day, police got a call from a Beach Road resident who reported that someone entered his car and took a GPS and a jacket. The jacket was later found by a neighbor in a pile of leaves and returned.

On Oct. 29, another Griffing Avenue resident called police to report that a black box was taken from his car. The contents of the black box are unknown.
