A Hampton Bays man was charged with a felony on Sunday after police said they caught him driving drunk with a child in the car.
According to Southampton Town police, Luis G. Conejo-Calvo, 51, was arrested at 10 p.m. in Hampton Bays after he was stopped for failing to maintain his lane of travel.
Police said further investigation found him to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, according to Leandra's Law, for having a child less than 15 years old in the vehicle.
Calvo was additionally charged with unlicensed operation, a violation, moving from a lane unsafely, a violation, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Calvo was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for arrest processing and held for arraignment.
