Cops and Blotters: Fisherman Slashes Tires, Woman Kicks Out Window of Police Car

Police and crime headlines during the week of May 20.

The following is a round-up of headlines related to cops and crime this week.

1. Have You Seen This Woman?

Police are looking for a woman who allegedly used a stolen debit card to purchase goods at Wild by Nature in Hampton Bays.

Police said the woman pictured in a surveillance video from Wild by Nature used the card on October 15, 2002 at 8:00 p.m.

Incident Reports: Hampton Bays Woman Wise to Scam

A Hampton Bays woman told police May 16 that she was called that day at noon on her cellphone by a man claiming he was from a collection agency trying to collect an outstanding debt of around $750. The caller told her to get a Green Dot MoneyPak in the precise amount, scratch off   the card and call back with the card's number. Find out what else was reported to Southampton Police here

3. Town Police Log: East End Drug Task Force Arrest

Sean J. Nigg, 20, of East Moriches, was arrested on two counts of criminal sale of marijuana in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, on May 16 at 8:33 a.m. following a long-term East End Drug Task Force investigation, according to police. An arrest report states that the incidents occurred on May 12 at 12:59 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Speonk and on March 30 at 11:45 a.m. at Nigg's Tuthill Point Road home in East Moriches. 4. Fisherman Filets Tires in Turf War

A turf war over horseshoe crabs led to the arrest of a Flanders fisherman on Sunday. 

Southampton Town police charged John Lombardi, 60, with felony criminal mischief after police said he slashed the tires of two fellow commercial fishermen's cars.

5. Charges Piled on Unruly Pair During DWI Arrest, Cops Say

A driver and her passenger did not take well to being pulled over predawn on Sunday in Hampton Bays, according to police.

A pair of arrest reports by Southampton Town police said that when the driver was finally put in the back of a police cruiser, she kicked out the rear window — adding to the charges leveled against her.

6. Cops: Man Shot In Foot Reported Fake Robbery

A man with a gunshot wound to the foot told police he'd been a robbery victim, but later changed his tune, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, a 24-year-old Riverside man was arrested on  May 15 at 2:15 p.m. at police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a misdemeanor. According to the arrest report, the man reported he was the victim of a robbery, during which he was shot with a gun in the foot, but he then recanted his story. 

7.  Man Gives Cops Fake Social Security Card

A Westhampton Beach man was charged after police discovered he had a fake social security card. 

According to Quogue Police, Rosendo Hernandez-Guillermo, 38, presented the card on May 18 after he was pulled over on Old Country Road at 1:00 a.m. for speeding and crossing a double yellow line. 

He was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony.
