Cops: 24-Year-Old Caught With Pills

Westhampton Beach police say they charged the Mattituck man on Feb. 6.

Westhampton Beach police charged a 24-year-old Mattituck man after they found him in possession of generic Vicodin pills.

According to police, Eric Sjursen was initially pulled over on Feb. 6 Mikey's Way for having an expired inspection sticker.

Upon investigation, police found Sjursen was in possession of a prescription pill bottle without a label. Inside, police said were generic Vicodin pills.

Police charged Sjursen with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, as well as with having a suspended licence in the fifth degree, which is a misdemeanor.

Police said Sjursen had 10 suspensions over the past five days.

Sjursen was released on $500 bail and due back in court on Feb. 27.
