Cashiers Caught Selling Alcohol to Minors in Undercover Sting

Ten other shops were found to be in compliance with the law.

Three Hampton Bays cashiers have been charged after New York State Police said they sold alcohol to undercover officers during a sting on Friday night. 

According to state police, a 52-year-old cashier at the Shell Station in Hampton Bays unlawfully sold a 6-pack of Heineken; A 24-year-old Hampton Bays man working at Bottle Hampton in Southampton sold a bottle of Grays Peak Vodka; and a 30-year-old clerk at Hampton Beverage in Hampton Bays sold a 12-pack of Bud Light. 

Each were charged with one count of unlawful dealing with a  child and one count of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage.

Police said they also conducted stinks at ten other locations, which were all found to be in compliance, including Zabi Wines & Liquor, Peconic Beverage, Hess Gas Mart, Sunoco Mart, Hampton Bays Liquor, Melrose Deli, Hampton Bays Wines & Liquor, Shell Mart Gas, Cumberland Farms Mobil, La Tiendita Latino Grocery.
