One Hospitalized After Car Hits Tree
Police were called to the accident on Old Country Road at 7:15 a.m.
Police and the Westhampton Beach Fire Department were called to Old Country Road in Westhampton at 7:15 a.m. Saturday to a one-car accident just west of the police academy. The car, officials said, hit a tree, smashing the driver's door.
According to the Westhampton Beach Fire Department, the driver of the car, a female in her forties, had to be extricated. A helicopter was called in and the woman was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Southampton Sergeant John Boden called the accident serious.
