By The Numbers: Quogue PD Releases Annual Report

Quogue PD gave out more warnings than tickets in 2011.

The Village of released it's annual arrest report recently.  The report provides arrest and complaint numbers during 2011. 

Speaking about the report, Lt. Christopher Isola said officers gave out more warnings in 2011 than they did tickets.

 A total of 1,566 warnings were issued compared with a total of 1,205 tickets issued for traffic law violations, including unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and suspended license. Arrests made totaled 197 and the number of tickets given out for parking violations was 106. A total of 52 cars under the vehicle and traffic law.

DWI arrests were logged separate in the report, which states that Quogue Police nabbed 51 individuals in 2011; three of those being felony.

In regards to calls regarding drugs, Quogue Police responded to 21 calls involving misdemeanor and violation narcotic complaints and one instance of felony narcotics.

Also in 2011, Quogue officers gave out 64 code violations, responded to seven instances of criminal mischief, one instance of disorderly conduct, ten instances for complaints of harassment, two times for trespassing, 292 times for local code violations and 16 times for petit larceny.

In addition, police responded to three instances of fraud, 13 instances of grand larceny, one felony assault, two auto lefts, seven burglaries, one sexual offense and one boat theft.

During 2011, Quogue officers clocked a total of 95,635 miles with each officer traveling 51.7 miles per shift.
