Armed Break-In Leads to Fatal Shooting in Flanders

A 21-year-old was killed after two armed men broke into a home in Flanders.

A 21-year old Flanders man has died after he was shot in the chest on Sunday morning.

The man, Demitri Hampton, was reportedly shot in the chest by two armed men who entered his home at 200 Priscilla Ave., according to Suffolk County police, who were alerted after they received a 911 call at about 3:15 a.m.

Hampton was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead were he was pronounced dead.

Police are still actively investigating — Priscilla Avenue is cordoned off at Wood Road Trail and Short Avenue with Suffolk County homicide detectives, the Suffolk County crime lab van on scene, and the county's mobile command post, along with Southampton Town police.
