Police: Bat Wielding Teen Arrested at Post-Game Brawl

Wilson Garcia, 19 was charged with two felonies.

Police have released the details of an incident that occurred on Friday night on the East Quogue Elementary School's baseball field that involved 40 teens.

According to Southampton Police, the teens, wielding baseball bats, got in a dispute after a . Police say the teens hailed from both Westhampton and Bellport.

The fight resulted in the arrest of Wilson A. Garcia, 19, of East Quogue, who police say allegedly hit a 17-year old Bellport boy in the head with a bat. ย

The Bellport teen was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center and later transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital for bleeding and swelling to his brain. He has since been released.

Police charged Garcia for assault in the second degree, a felony; criminal mischief in the third degree, a felony; and criminal mischief in the third degree, a misdemeanor.

Police say Garcia also hit the Bellport teen's 2002 BMW, with a baseball bat.

The Westhampton Beach School District said it is aware of the situation and is investigating.
