Arraignment Date Set for Teen Charged With DWI

Taylor Geib is set to appear in court on July 20.

Taylor Geib, a 17-year-old who has been charged with DWI in connection with a in which 18-year-old of Quiogue was killed, is set to be arraigned on July 20 in Southampton Town Justice Court, according to Bob Clifford, spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

Geib’s arraignment was not set sooner because he had been hospitalized after the accident. He was released from Brookhaven Memorial Hospital last Wednesday.

Geib was charged on June 26 when police say he lost control of a 2007 Honda Accord on Lewis Road near Mitchell Place in East Quogue around 11:15 p.m. The speed limit on Lewis Road is 30 miles per hour.

Geib’s car reportedly veered onto a lawn, flipped over and struck a parked BMW in the driveway of a residence.

Detective Sgt. Randy Hintze said, “Preliminary investigation indicates excessive speed and alcohol contributed to this accident.”
