Drug Task Force Busts Alleged Heroin Dealer

Second drug task force arrest in less than a month puts Hampton Bays man behind bars.

A Hampton Bays man was arrested Tuesday for reportedly selling heroin, following a six-month investigation by the East End Drug Task Force.

According to Southampton Town police, a search warrant was executed at the Penny Lane home of 46-year-old Kenneth Moses, and he and another woman were arrested there.

Moses was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, as well as two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, all felonies. Police said Moses sold heroin dating back to late January of this year.

Last Tuesday’s arrest follows another recent arrest by the East End Drug Task Force; a man who has been arrested over 50 times since the early 1990s was arrested in late June on charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. Police claim Joseph Coffey — who remains hospitalized after fleeing police and getting in a car crash in May — sold heroin at Longview Resort Motel in Shinnecock Hills in late February.
