Clammer Found Dead in Shinnecock Bay
Southampton Police say the body of Wayne Mordes,58, was found by an area boater.
A 58-year-old Hampton Bays man was found dead in Shinneock Bay near Hampton Bays by an area boater on Tuesday at around 5 p.m., according to .
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that Wayne Mordes was clamming in the bay near Wells Creek before his body was discovered.
Police said they recovered Mordes' body with the help of Southampton Town Police's Dive Unit.

The cause of death is still under investigation with the help of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office and anyone with information is asked to call Southampton Town Police at (631) 728-5000.
