3 Charged at State Sobriety Checkpoint

State police checked 200 drivers on Saturday night.

New York State Troopers have charged three individuals after conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Sunrise Highway at exit 65 in Hampton Bays on Saturday night.

State police charged Scott Tucker, 24, of Palm Beach, Fla, and Jorge Morocho, 24, of Southampton, each with one misdemeanor count of DWI. Also charged was Sarah Hynes, 28, of Wading River with driving while impaired by drugs.

In addition, police said they charged a 25-year-old Southampton man with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

In total, police said 200 cars were checked at the checkpoint, which was enforced from 11:00 p.m. and 4 a.m.
