Memorial Day Weekend Is Finally Here

Fair Trade shopping at the World Village Fair Trade Market in Hampton Bays is where you change the world one purchase at a time.

You're probably looking at your watch this very minute and wondering when that train is leaving for the Hamptons, right?  It's the traditional "First Week of Summer" out on Long Island's  beautiful East End and we want to share a little secret with you:  Fair trade shopping makes you feel and look great.

You'll look great because it's unique, wearable, trendy and so "in" this season because of its use of recycling, being sustainable and eco-friendly as well as colorful and eye-catching.  But what you may not have known is that you'll feel great wearing it because you'll know it helped people living in poverty areas of the world to receive fair wages, safe working conditions as well as a voice in how the business is run.

Fair trade products also eliminate child labor, sweatshops and harmful chemicals or dyes.  What you'll see in the World Village Fair Trade Market are jewelry, accessories, sarongs, purses, scarves, windchimes, musical instruments, children's toys, home decor, baskets, as well as organic/fair trade coffees, teas, and organic/vegan/fair trade chocolate.  We have a lot packed into a small space!

Our store is all-volunteer run and also one of the two missions of the non-profit, Sobornost For The World Foundation.  We also visit Kenya and Zambia, where we care for hundreds of orphans who are financially supported by our foundation and receive an education, food each day, personal hygiene supplies and a backpack.  We're so sure you'll enjoy shopping fair trade that we want to invite you to a cup of fair trade coffee on us!
