Cable barriers installed along Sunrise Highway have proved effective in thwarting head-on accidents, Newsday reported on Sunday.
The Newsday article specifically said that barriers constructed on Sunrise Highway and the Long Island have prevented 22 drivers from crossing to oncoming traffic this year.
