Friends Say Goodbye to 'H-Bomb' at Sea

A service was held on the Shinnecock Canal for Jason Hobson, affectionately known as H-Bomb.

On Saturday, friends of Jason Hosbon, affectionately known as H-Bomb gathered on the Shinnecock Canal to pay tribute to a man who loved the sea.

Those who loved Hobson arrived both on land and by boat for a final fairwell, wearing t-shirts that were sold to help raise money for his family.

Their words during the memorial aboard the Mary Ann were somber.

"You will always be our ripple in the water" and "As you drift with the tide as you've done many times before, know your at peace where you love to be on the water" were some of those words that were said.

Hobson, who passed away suddenly in his sleep in June, was known as a local fisherman, fishing since the age of 12. He was also known as a Boardy Barn bouncer.

As word of his death spread to the community, a flood of Facebook messages poured in from friends and loved ones mourning his tragic loss. A Facebook page dedicated to his memory can by found by clicking here
