Let's Bring a Production Studio to Westhampton Beach

Welcome Royal Pains.

Ready- Set - ACTION! As a part-time resident of Connecticut, I'm used to seeing movie and television crews roaming around the state shooting scenes for upcoming movies and television programs. Therefore, it was great fun to see Main Street in Westhampton Beach and our local merchants playing a role in upcoming scenes for "Royal Pains" from the USA Network.

It made me think of all the commerce the Connecticut Film Center has brought to Connecticut filming movies and television programs around the state. It has been quite beneficial to non-profits, merchants and citizens as production companies use their homes for filming. As a longtime Westhampton Beach visitor....I continue to be frustrated with the two stagnate buildings in town -- the and the extension to Waldbaums -- it could be time to think about turning one or two of them into production studios for film crews which would be a year round business increasing traffic for all of the merchants in town.

If nothing is going to be done with the Waldbaum's extension nor the bowling alley, let's invite year round filming into town --we have a wonderful arts center to support our cause.

Two Showtime programs are produced in Stamford,Connecticut in former empty lots and have become quite productive to the city and merchants.  WHB could move forward with the same thoughts for the future.

Our summer season is to short to support our merchants!
