We have some major Astrological influences this coming week.  The beginning of the week has Mars at 4 degree’s Libra, so he is getting within range of his opposition to Uranus.  This can be disruptive energy so can see some major shake ups, on a positive level this is all about innovate change, acts of heroism strong leadership but on a negative level it can mean force and disruption.  Where this opposition falls in your chart is an area of your life that needs some change.

On Tuesday Dec 17th we have our last Full Moon of the year at 28 degrees of Gemini and Sagittarius, the Full Moon happens at 4:29 AM EST.  Full Moon’s are about release letting go of what you no longer need.  Since Gemini and Sagittarius are signs that have a lot to do with communications think about things you may need to say or get across,  and figure out a way to say it and let it go. These are also signs that can have big ideas but not always follow through so let go of any areas where you may procrastinate.

Mid week is fairly quiet, except for Mars and Uranus, but Saturday the 21st is a big day, first we have the Winter Solstice at 12:11 PM, the Solstice brings us the official start of Winter.  This has always been a time of celebration all over the world as it’s the time the SUN is born again our days start to get longer. The Roman’s celebrated the Saturnalia a time when slaves and masters changed roles and gave each other gifts.  Brumalia was a Greek holiday where the God Dionysus, the God of Wine, was celebrated with festivities and wine drinking.   Sankranti was a Hindu celebration where gifts were exchanged during times of feasting and drinking.  The Hindus believed if you died on this day your cycle of reincarnation was over.  And of course we have Christmas where we also celebrate and give gifts.  So everyone agreed, maybe in different way, but agreed that this is a special time of year.  Our Sun has come back the God’s once again favor us. 

On the same day Dec 21st the planet Venus will go retrograde and stay that way until January 31st 2014, Venus only goes retrograde once every 18 months so its an important time when this happens.  Venus rules things such as money, love, partnerships and agreements, so her backwards motion can cause problems in all those areas.  Venus in Capricorn is very conscious of financial affairs, so when she turns retrograde it’s a time to review your financial life make adjustments and fix what needs fixing.  You may also find since this happens just as Christmas is approaching spending has to stop all of a sudden money is not as available as it was.  It’s also a time to be cautious in love and agreements, this is not the best time for marriages or partnerships to start, if you can put these things off until she turns direct it would be helpful.  We find on the world stage that agreements and negations run into snags they stop sides don’t agree as they once had.
