This Week in Astrology: The Spring Solstice Is Upon Us

Astrology for the week of March 19.

This will be a week of varied energy. It starts off with the grand trine of last week still in effect, but starting the separating process. If you look outside this week, you can still see the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter at sunset. The larger planet is Jupiter, a beautiful sight that we don’t get to see often enough.

We also welcome spring this week.  Western Astrology is based on the entry of the Sun into the cardinal points, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  Each of these signs represent a season, Aries is spring and new starts. Spring or the Vernal Equinox will happen on March 20 at 1:14 a.m..  If you would like to learn more about the Vernal Equinox, click here

The New Moon happens two days after the Equinox, on Tuesday March 22 at 10:37 a.m..  New Moon’s are all about planting a seed — all about starting something new.  Since this is the astrological New Year week, it’s a great time to make plans for how you want your year to work out, come up with ideas and plans that will push you forward.  Mercury and Uranus are right next to the Sun and Moon so ideas and thinking out of the box will come easy.  It's time to take a chance and do something new or daring.  But this energy can also be volatile so don’t expect everyone to agree with you; often planning for your future is best kept to yourself until all the plans are set.  We may see some world wide unrest with this energy —  people don’t want to be held down or told what to do, this is the energy of anarchy.

Mercury re-enters Pisces on Wednesday so we may find some of the energy and excitement of the past several days is dampened; things don’t seem as possible as they did just yesterday.  Don’t give up on plans, but just know that Mercury retrograde has everyone reconsidering and adjusting.  The following day, Thursday, the Sun and Uranus conjoin so now we have an energy of feeling unenthusiastic, but also a feeling of frustration by anything that holds us back, a perfect set up for blow ups, so be cautious around those you care aboutand don’t say or do things that you know could be taken the wrong way. At the same time, understand they are not trying to annoy you they are just reacting to uncomfortable energy.

P. Killian, Thanks for asking. We just reached out to State police. They are doing seatbelt checks.
