Know Thyself ... And Know What We Are Eating

We have the right to know if GMOs are in our food. California's Prop 37 Right to Know Labeling ballot initiative, a new GMO documentary and a week of Global Actions

If we are what we eat, shouldn’t we know what we are actually eating? The USDA, FDA, and the $27 Million dollars being spent by BIG FOOD, BIG CHEM and BIG PHARMA fighting California Proposition 37 –Right to Know GMO Labeling Law ballot initiative up for vote in the November election, are fighting hard to keep us from knowing — by label on our packages — what is in our food and if it contains GMOs —  genetically modified organisms. Monsanto alone, the largest seed patent holder on earth and maker of herbicide RoundUp, is spending over $4.2 Million on this fight.

What’s all this buzz about California Proposition 37, GMO Right to Know Labeling ballot initiative up for vote in the November election? The buzz is that if California, 8th largest economy on Earth, passes the Prop 37 Label GMO’s law, every GMO food ingredient sold in the State of California will have to be labeled by law. So? Aren’t GMOs in our foods labeled already? In a word, no.

So, why is the collective Agribusiness Industry spending $27 Million to fight California’s Prop 37 ballot initiative that would mandate labeling GMOs? Could it be because over 65% of Californians believe foods with GMOs need to be labeled so they can decide for themselves whether or not to eat them? Could it be that if these GMO food ingredients were labeled, 65% of California eaters would not buy them?

What the heck are GMOs, anyway? To learn from one of the world’s experts on GMOs this week, for free, you can watch GMO Educator, Jeffrey Smith's (Institute For Responsible Technology) Groundbreaking Movie, Genetic Roulette —The Gamble of Our Lives, Jeffrey Smith’s new documentary Genetic Roulette is turning out to be a life-changer, and you can watch it for free online from Sept. 15 to 22 at: www.GeneticRouletteMovie.com

Also this week, global actions are taking place to stop Monsanto from continuing their global damage to our bodies and our ecosystems. Isn’t it our right to know what we put into our bodies? Isn’t it time we get GMO ingredients labeled? California will lead the nation

"Whether you like it or not, chances are Monsanto contaminated the food you ate today with chemicals and GMOs. Monsanto controls much of the world's food supply at the expense of food democracy worldwide" - Occupy Monsanto, more information at www.occupy-monsanto.com

Monsanto can spend all the money they want (and I hope they spend all they have). They're gonna lose.
