Conversations with The Fam

Grandma recounts her days as a bully on the streets of Brooklyn.

Never underestimate senior citizens. Their looks are deceiving!  Take my 97 year old grandmother, "Mema," for example. She weighs a whopping 100 lbs and stands at a mere 4'8."  But in a recent conversation with Mema, I found out she was quite the bully as a kid.

Mema grew up on the cobblestone streets of Brooklyn, a child of Italian immigrants. Fighting was the only means of resolving conflict back then.  The kids faught it out and whoever gave up first was the loser.  But in the end, they would become friends and the conflict was over.  Today, the streets are nothing short of a battlezone.
