Reiki and Weight Loss

Gearing up for warmer weather.

 

 

Summertime is officially here with Memorial Day weekend upon us, with the warmer weather comes bathing suit season. Are you eagerly waiting to bare it all or are you like a lot of people and are keeping the cover up on this season?

If you are in the cover up camp, (even if you are in the bare it all camp!), Reiki can be beneficial to you. Are you going to go for a Reiki session and lose an inch? No, but with a regular practice you will begin to feel the potential benefit Reiki brings which is a more balanced life.

When you are out of balance you could feel tired, sluggish, unmotivated maybe even a little depressed.

With a regular Reiki practice comes balance and with balance comes clarity. What motivates you comes into focus and you could even find you are listening to what your body has been telling you all along and eating a whole lot less. We eat so much more than we need to because we feel like we deserve something good. In the long run that McDonald’s just leaves you with that sick McFeelin’ we all know.

Reiki can lead you to practicing deeper breathing. Breath work is also beneficial in weight loss believe it or not. Breathing is the most unconscious and conscious thing we all do all day everyday. If for a few minutes a day you focused on a deep breathing exercise you could decrease your stress and create more energy, thus making weight loss easier.

For 10 minutes a day before you get out of bed in the morning try this exercise for 1 week. Roll your shoulders back so your chest is lifted, chin slightly up, this is a heart opening posture that will set the tone for the day. Lay your hands on your abdomen inhale to a count of four hold for 1 and exhale for four. The next breath repeat but exhale for 5 eventually working up to exhaling to an eight count. Focusing on your exhale will strengthen your intercostal muscles and your inhalations automatically deepen with out having to think about taking really deep breaths. While you are laying here breathing envision what you want to feel like when you lose that weight. See yourself in your mind’s eye with people you love, happy, heart open, confident.
