8 Places To Donate on Giving Tuesday

Find a list of local organizations that need your help.

It's Giving Tuesday, a day created by the UN Foundation where community members are encouraged to donate to local and national organizations that rely on donations. 

If you are in the giving spirit after shopping on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday  and Cyber Monday, then consider helping out the following local organizations. 

1. Westhampton Food Pantry

Located at the in Westhampton Beach, 580 Main St. Westhampton Beach, the Westhampton Food Pantry, is always looking for canned goods. Goods can be left anytime on the porch of the rectory. People that are in need can access the pantry on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. They just need to contact the church ahead of time at (631) 288-1423.

2. Maureen's Haven

The weather is starting to turn and which houses the homeless in the winter is starting to gear up. The non-profit is always in need of not only goods such as food, clothing and toiletries, but also volunteers. For more information, call (631) 727-6831.

3. The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is a staple of the holiday season with its bell-ringers.  You can always provide the organization with your spare change, but it also accepts donations for its food pantry that is located at 130 Osborn Avenue in Riverhead.  Call (631) 727-3338.

4. HUGS

A not-for-profit organization, the Human Understanding Growth Seminars, located at 110 Mill Road in Westhampton Beach, is a youth organization that provides educational and recreational programs for middle and high school students. To donate to the program, call (631) 288-9505.

5. Human Resources of the Hamptons 

The Human Resources of the Hamptons, located at 168 Hill Street in Southampton, provides help to over 6,000 people a year.  It is always in need of food and clothing to stock its pantry and clothing room. For more information, call (631) 283-6415.

6. St. Rosalie's Food Pantry

St. Rosalie's Church in Hampton Bays is also looking to stock its food pantry shelves for the holidays. Donations can be brought to the church Monday through Friday betwee 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Anyone in need can access the food pantry on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10 a.m.and 2 p.m. For more information, call 728-9461.

7. The Southampton Animal Shelter 

The Southampton Animal Shelter, located at 102 Old Riverhead Rd. Hampton Bays, is always willing to accept donations to help care for the animals it takes in. For more information, call (631)728-7387.

8. Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons

The Wildlife Center of the Hamptons, located at 228 W. Montauk Highway in  Hampton Bays helps over 2,000 animals each year.  The organization offers a number of donation opportunities through membership. Call (631) 728-4200 for more information.
