Local Dentist Wants Your Halloween Candy

Jason Parli is once again offering cash for your kids' Halloween candy.

In an effort to keep children's teeth free of cavities, Jason Parli, DDS of Beach Dental is once again offering cash for candy through a program, called, Halloween Candy Buy-Back.

Through the program, children, up to age 18, can bring their Halloween candy to Beach Dental on November 1 from noon to 4:00 p.m. and on Nov. 2 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and in return receive $1 for every pound traded.

All of the candy, said Parli will then be shipped — along with toothbrushes — to soldiers overseas through Operation Gratitude.

“This gives our patients chance to get rid of the extra candy they have from Halloween that is just going to harm their teeth and it gives us a chance to show our soldiers that they are in our thoughts and that we appreciate their sacrifices,” said Parli.

Beach Dental started the program Halloween two years ago, collecting 158 pounds of candy from the community the first year of the program.

“We know our community's children are very generous and concerned about their oral hygiene, but once they learn who gets the donated candy, I'm sure they'll be even more generous with their donations,” said Parli.

Children must be accompanied by an adult to trade their candy.
