Halloween Happenings in Hampton Bays and Westhampton Beach

Mark your calendars with these spooky halloween events.

Halloween is just weeks away and throughout the month of October, there are a variety of spooky happenings from Westhampton to Hampton Bays. The following is a round-up of those events. 

Pumpkin Painting
Teens are invited to the Westhampton Free Library On Oct. 4 to pain pumpkins from 6:30 p.m .to 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

Zombie Defense Weapons Training
On Oct. 21, teens can learn how to defend themselves against zombies at a program at the Westhampon Free Library that will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

Closet Monsters
Bring the kids, ages kindergarden and up to make a closet monster at the Hampton Bays Library from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

Zombie Makeup
Teens can learn how to apply zombie make-up at the Westhampton Free Library on Oct. 22 from from 6:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

Decorate a Spooky Cookie
On Oct. 23, kids can make a spooky Halloween cookie at the Westhampton Free Library from 5:30 to 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:30 to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

Carve Your Own Jack-O-Lanterns
On Oct. 24, kids in grades K and  up can decorate a pumpkin at the Hampton  Bays Library from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

A Time For Kids: Pumpkin
On Oct. 24, children under the age of 5 can make a special Halloween craft at the Westhampton Free Library at 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required.

Trunk or Treat in Westhampton Beach
On Oct. 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, decorate the trunk of your car for Halloween and bring treats for the community. One family member must stay with the car to pass out the treats. The rest of the family can travel from trunk to trunk in costumes to gather the goodies. Pre-registration is required.

Pumpkin Painting
Kids can paint a pumpkin at the Hampton Bays Library on Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. Pre-registration is required.  

Movie: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Bring the kids to watch a Halloween favorite at 4 p.m. on Oct. 28. No registration is required. 

Miss Sari's Kitchen: Haunted Gingerbread Houses
Children three and up can make a haunted gingerbread house at 11:00 a.m. on Oct. 28 at the Hampton Bays Library. Pre-registration is required.

Stomp It Up! Halloween Style 
Children under 5 can can sing and stomp in costume at the Westhampton Free Library from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 29. Pre-registration is required. 

The Haunted Path & Rec Night
The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will host a  Haunted Path/Sports & Rec Night on Oct. 25 at Southampton Youth Services, located at 1370A Majors Path. This safe and supervised event is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and for grades 6th and up.  Admission is $5 and $2 roundtrip  transportation is also available. Trunk or Treat in Southampton
For the little pumpkins and their families, on Oct. 26, the Southampton Youth Services, located at 1370A Majors Path will opens its doors for “Trunk or Treat” from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Decorate the trunk of your car, dress in costume and share in an afternoon of trick or treat from car trunk to car trunk.  There will be prizes for best costume and trunk decoration.  Enjoy arts & crafts, caramel apple making and more. 25th Anniversary Spooky Walk

A spooky walk, sponsored by the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws to benefit Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck will be open Oct. 18, 19, 25 and 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. For more information, click here

Enchanted Forest Trail

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is hosting its annual Enchanted Forest Trail on Oct. 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.  and Oct. 27 from noon to 3 p.m. The event is geared for children ages 2 to 7 and includes a guided tour of whimsical, fun, and educational characters on the forest trails as well as games and activities. Reservations are required and the cost is $10.00 per person.

Annual Spooky Walk

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is holding a spooky walk for children 7 and older on Oct. 19 and Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations are required and the cost is $15 per person.

Annual Halloween Parade 
On Oct. 26, from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., children of all ages are invited to parade through the Hampton Bays Library and on the library lawn. Be sure to be dressed in your best costume. Registration required.

East Quogue Halloween Parade

The East Quogue PTA is hosting a Halloween parade on Oct. 26  down Main Street with activities to follow at the East Quogue Village Green. Fore more information, call 631-728-5555 or visit www.eqny.com.

Halloween Walk-About

The Mark Sinclair Foundation is sponsoring a Halloween Walk-About on Oct. 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. During the event, children are encouraged to dress-up in costume and trick-or-treat at local businesses that have a pumpkin decal displayed in their front window.  

Zombies at the Library

On Oct. 26, zombies will be taking over the Westhampton Free Library and teens are invited to help fight them off from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pre-registration is required to attend this program. Register by calling 631-288-3335 X 128. 

Westhampton Beach Annual Halloween Parade

On Oct. 31, at 3 p.m., join the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce, the Westhampton Beach Elementary School PTA, the Westhampton Beach Middle School PTO, the Quogue Elementary School PTA, and the Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School PTO for the annual Westhampton Beach Halloween Parade. The parade starts at 3:15 p.m. at the Westhampton Beach Elementary School and goes down Mill Road to Main Street for trick-or-treating until 5pm.

Haunted Houses

Voodoo, located at Patty’s Berries and Bunches in Mattituck is open Friday and Saturday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. the house is designed for patrons who are 13 and older. Families with children 8 years and older are advised to attend family-friendly jaunts through the haunted house on Saturdays from 2:00 p.m.to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 children. 

The Darkside Haunted House, located at on Route 25A near Hulse Landing Road, is open Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight; Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to midnight; and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Admission is $20, cash only.
