Scouts Bring Cheer to the East End's Homeless

The scouts assembled 50 gift bags for guests of Maureen's Haven.

For the third year in a row, the scouts of Cub Scout Pack 483 of Hampton Bays helped to bring a little holiday cheer to the homeless that are served by the non-profit Maureen's Haven program.

According to Cubmaster Scott Comenzo, the boys assembled 50 gift bags filled with tooth brushes, toothpaste, warm socks and small candy, affixing each bag with a holiday card.

"This reinforced and taught the scouts part of the scout promise to "help other people," said Comenzo.

Also this holiday season, the scouts worked to collect non-perishable food items that will be donated to the food pantry at St. Rosalies Church.
