Musician Grants Wish To Cancer Patient

Singer Natasha Owens heal the heart of an Eastport resident.

A woman battling deadly cancer saw a lifetime dream of becoming a professional musician come true, if only for a day.

Last week, Stepping Stone Support brought in singer Natasha Owens and a band to sing alongside Nanette Trotta of Eastport, who is battling Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.

During the session, held at Trotta's home, Owens, Trotta and Trott's daugher, Nicole, were able to perform a song written by Trotta, called "The Everlasting Light."

"The performances of both Natasha and Nanette are pure and powerful," said Reneé Lynn Scott, founder and director of Stepping Stone Support, an organization that is "dedicated to helping men and women affected by cancer and infertility."
