Wanted: Your Old Sneakers
The Corner Kick Club is collecting shoes to help raise money for new uniforms and equipment.
The Westhampton Beach Middle School Soccer Club, the Corner Kick Club, is collecting shoes to help raise money for new uniforms and equipment.
The club is collecting the shoes through a program called, GreenSneakers, which gives groups $.50 per pound of shoes donated.
The Corner Kick Club, kicked off its shoe drive on April 1 and is collecting sneakers, running shoes, basketball shoes, gym shoes, light weight or trail shoes, in any condition through May 3.
Collection bins are located in the Westhampton Beach Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, as well as at East Quogue Elementary School, the Remsenburg Elementary School, the Westhampton Yacht Club, Sportime in Quogue, Lift in Speonk, the Westhamton Library and the Westhampton Beach Tennis.
The shoes collected, according to GreenSneakers, will be reused/recycled for people in need around the world.
