Save the Date: Raise Money in Memory of Mark Raynor

The event will be held on July 28.

Jim Raynor, son of former Westhampton Beach Mayor Mark Raynor is looking to raise money for pancreatic cancer in memory of his father, who passed away in September 2012 from the disease at the age of 57.

On July 28, Rayor is sponsoring the 3rd annual Tour de Pour bar Crawl event in which participants ride their bicycles from pub to pub around the area. It is the first year the event will be held without Mark.

"It was my dad's favorite day of the summer," said Jim. "He was touched by how many people came out and donated money to help in the fight against pancreatic cancer."

This year, Jim said he hopes to raise $5,000, asking participates to pay a minimum of $20 to participate.

Last year, they came close to that same goal, with 75, helping to raise a little over $4,000  — a giant leap from the first year, in which $20 bicyclists raised $500.

With bars, including Josey's, Agave, Margarita Grille, Saltwater Grille and John Scott's participating, Jim said he anticipates at least 100 people to take to the streets on their bicycles for the event, which starts at 4:00 p.m. at Jonsey's.
