Happy Tails!

All of us involved in animal rescue are thrilled when one of our pups finds his/hers forever family. But this past weekend, two of our pups went to their new homes!

Here, at Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue, when one of our pups finds their forever homes it's a cause for celebration!

Today we are celebrating Brooks and Boris.

BROOKS found his family this past Monday at the . Mitzi and family fell absolutely head over heals in love with Brooks and today it was made official! Special thanks to Angela Gualtieri for doing a home visit, the Hargis family for fostering Brooks, and of course to Mitzi and family for giving our incredible pup Brooks a loving and forever home!

BORIS also found his fabulous forever home this weekend! These boys fell madly in love with him! Can you blame them?! Thank you to Elena San Gabino not just for fostering our gorgeous pup, but also for playing matchmaker and finding him an amazing forever home!

Congratulations Brooks and Boris, you will never feel fear or hatred ever again!

Over many years, I've rescued 6 dogs from various organizations, including North Shore and Southampton Shelter. After extensive research of rescues across the Hamptons, I discovered GSAR. Although small and fairly new, I was very impressed with the thoroughness in which the applications and the references are checked and evaluated, including a home visit. The attention to details like matching the personalities of the people with that of the dogs so that no dogs are returned, and lastly, the professionalism with which the organization is being run. Based on this research, I not only adopted my 7th dog from GSAR, but I also decided to be a supporter in any which way i can. In my humble opinion, GSAR is a rescue worth supporting.

I recently started volunteering with GSAR. I have fostered several dogs and helped place some of our wonderful dogs in their forever homes. I am so impressed with the professional and care that is placed with each and every adoption. The Director continues to amaze me with her passion for saving dogs. She is hands on 24/7. I have 3 dogs of my own and one of them was a foster pup that we fell in love with. I will continue to support and promote GSAR and what they stand for, saving dogs and working tirelessly to find their forever homes. I highly recommend supporting GSAR in any way possible.

I am also a GSAR volunteer and have gotten to know the driving forces that are the director and SUPPORTERS of the organization and I feel the same as others having posted before me. GSAR screens dogs, potential adopters and dog fostering families very thoroughly so as to prevent problems from arrising in the first place! GSAR has also taken the expensive leap of starting a spay and neuter program in the South Carolina county where most of the dogs and some cats originate. This to me shows that not only do they find unwanted dogs/puppies a good home but, are willing to help stem the tide of accidental/un-planned puppies in the first place! That to me is a responsible and thoughtful way of addressing a horrible situation as tens of thousands of animals are intentionally destroyed every day through out the southern U.S.

I have been volunteering for Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue since its inception . The Director/President Michelle Neufeld's passion for each and every animal is contagious . Her diligence and devotion to the cause is admirable and pays off every time she finds a perfect forever home for these deserving souls. I am honored to be a part of this organization .
