The Center for Creative Retirement-Today's Program

The Center for Creative Retirement (CCR) meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, mornings from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and afternoons from noon to 1 p.m. Retirees seeking an intellectual challenge and social engagement will find in the program just what they are seeking.

Each day brings a fresh perspective on some topic that the members have chosen as part of the syllabus. CCR volunteers research and present the topics. As a member, you can look forward to a rich tapestry of new facts and perspectives.

Join us on Monday November 11 for our continuing series on the history and culture of Ireland.  From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., we discuss the Irish author James Joyce and his classic novella, "The Dead."

At noon, after lunch, we hear about advertising that targets children.  A one-hour review will educate parents and grandparents about the positives and negatives in the messages aimed at their youngsters.

Our web site is http://www.liu.edu/Riverhead/CE/CCR/About. Also visit our blog, "The Center for Creative Retirement," in the Patch.

Membership fees continue to be very reasonable.
