"Sounds of Sarod and Stories" with Wynne Paris

Wynne Paris is a world beat artist/producer and musician who has spent over a decade devoted to an emerging genre of spiritual music: Yoga music and Kirtan. Wynne’s artistic sound is derived from 20 years of musical adventures and spiritual experiences in a style of a 21st century troubadour.


The path of Yoga, provided Wynne with a new voice Kirtan chanting, a new instrument the Sarod (a plucky relative of the sitar ) and new venue : yoga centers. He played guitar, sarod,and sazone of the genre’s defining albums., the groundbreaking Krishna Das CD, “Pilgrim Heart,” by the celebrated chanter, Krishna Das. A long-time collaborator with yoga’s most famous musician, Wynne also played Sarod on the Krishna Das CD “All One,”and performed with Krishna Das at the Omega Institute, the Jivamukti Yoga Center and Yogaville, the Satchidanda Ashram in Virginia. Wynne’s influence in the genre is evidenced by his performances and recordings with leading New Age & Yoga musicians; including, Bhagavan Das, Shahin and Sephir, Guru Ganesha Singh, Steve Gordon, Rasa, Sophia, Wade Morrissette, Lawson Rollins, Dave Stringer, and David Newman.


Wynne’s latest recording, Groovananda, features an array of musicians that includes: Rick Allen( Def Leppard), mix engineer John ‘JT’ Thomas(organ - Bruce Hornsby), Mark Karan(guitar, Ratdog), Badal Roy(tabla, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman), Gary Grainger(Bass, John Scofield/Dennis Chambers), Doug Derryberry(mandolin/guitar, Bruce Hornsby band), Perry Robinson (Jazz clarinet -Pete Seeger/Brubeck) Anthony Krizan (guitar, Spin Doctors), Krishna Das (Kirtan chanter), Mary Ann Redmond (vocals), David Stringer (Kirtan chanter), John Wubbenhorst( flute, Bansuri ), and Hans Christian and Kim Waters (Rasa).
Wynne has performed his music on such diverse stages as

o Harmony Festival in northern California
o Karmapalooza in Miami
o Bhakti Fest in Joshua Tree, California
