Auditions for "The Foreigner"

The Hampton Theatre Company will hold open auditions for “The Foreigner,” Larry Shue’s hilarious comedy about a shy and awkward “foreigner"’s unexpected adventure in the wilds of rural Georgia. Auditions are Sunday and Monday, January 12 and 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the Quogue Community Hall on Jessup Avenue in Quogue. Both union and non-union actors are invited to attend. HTC is seeking actors for the roles of: CHARLIE BAKER (40s), the title character, a shy, awkward and (initially) unhappy British gentleman; “FROGGY” LeSUEUR (50s+), an adventurous and cheery Cockney military man; REV. DAVID LEE (30s-40s), a pleasant young minister (who is not what he seems); CATHERINE SIMS (20s), a pretty and wealthy ex-debutante; and ELLARD SIMS (20s), Catherine’s simple-minded brother.
Rehearsals for “The Foreigner" begin February 4, with performances running from March 13 through March 30 (with a possible extension through April 6), on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, at the Quogue Community Hall. Sarah Hunnewell directs.
Readings will be from the script. No monologue or appointment is necessary. For more information, contact info@hamptontheatre.org or 631-726-4656. Information about the theater company can be found on the company’s web site, www.hamptontheatre.org. Anyone unable to attend the scheduled audition times, but who would like to read, should contact the company and an alternate time will be arranged if possible. Local housing is available for out-of-town actors. Special Appearance contract for Equity actors, if applicable.
