Your Hot Tub Could Be A Cool Tub Too, See How!

WOW is it hot out there…too hot.  With temperatures close to or in the 100's I bet the idea of a dip in the HOT TUB is not that appealing in this weather.  BUT WAIT! Could your hot tub be a cool tub?  You bet it could.  Lets get that tub from Hot Tub to COOL Tub right now!

  • First shut off the heater or reduce the temperature setting ton 85 degrees or less. This will obviously allow the tub to cool off and save you energy.
  • Now take the cover off and run the jets.  The temperature of the water will drop pretty quickly.
  • You could also partially drain the tub of some of the hotter water and replace it with cooler water.
  • Don’t use ice with the jets running.  If you want to add ice to reduce the water temp, do it without the jets running.  Once melted, you can turn on the jets.
  • Don’t forget to adjust the water chemistry if you add water or ice.
  • The best time of the day to reduce the water temperature is during the night taking advantage of the cooler evening temperatures to cool down the water.
  • Keep the tub covered until ready to use again, especially if it is in the sun.  This would be a good time to invest in a market umbrella or other large shade type structure to keep the tub out of the sun.
  • Once your water is cooler, it will stay cooler until you are ready to make it a hot tub again.  The insulation around the tub will help keep the water temperature cooler than the air temperature.
  • Sitting in your "Cool Tub" with the jets running and circulating that cool water will be so refreshing.  Add a little shade and a cool beverage and you will be comfortable in no time.
