'Rebuilding Tomorrows' Documentary - Homeless Woman Becomes Home Health Aide

By voting for our film, we have the opportunity to win $20,000 and give back.

Around 15 percent of Americans are living below the poverty line. With statistics so severe, it’s often hard to keep hope. But there are people rebuilding their lives day by day.

This summer my teammate Sarah and I made a documentary on homelessness and found individuals who are working constantly to move into a self-sufficient lifestyle. One homeless woman from our film, Inesha, recently found work as a home health aide. She has three children to provide for and her success is a tribute not only to her own determination but to the wonderful work that organizations like the FOCUS Outreach Program are doing for the homeless.

You can watch the trailer (right) and then visit the No nonsense Facebook page to watch our six-minute documentary and learn more about Inesha’s story, as well as other individuals who are rebuilding their lives.

Our documentary, "Rebuilding Tomorrows," is currently in a competition among three other films created this summer. By voting for our film, we have the opportunity to win $20,000 and give back to the organizations we met this summer and further empower people like Inesha. Voting ends this Friday.
