Weekly Wrap-Up: Five Headlines You Might Have Missed

Happenings in Westhampton-Hampton Bays during the week of Nov. 28.

Dune Road residents – including members of the Tiana Bay Erosion Control District – turned out en masse to grill the Southampton Town Board on Tuesday on the status of an $8 million road-raising project, which would alleviate some of the flooding and has been discussed as far back as 2004. Councilman Chris Nuzzi said the project will cost roughly $1 million per each mile along the ocean and the town has committed $100,000 toward the project.

The Westhampton Free Library has a new director — Danielle Zubiller, formally of the Brentwood Library, took over, on Monday, for Matthew Bollerman, who has relocated to the Hauppauge Library.

A local developer has called for the resignation of Westhampton Beach Trustee Sue Farrell, claiming that her allegedly "liking" a comment made on the website 27east went too far.

A Westhampton Beach high school student and two East Hampton students have been l after admitting to team, according to Interim Superintendent Richard Burns.

Gregg and Mitchell Rechler, the developers of the Hampton Bays-based Canoe Place Inn, say that they will not be submitting an application to the Southampton Planning Board for at least another two weeks.
